We shared a traditional Thanksgiving dinner followed by election of officers for 2006.  Our program for the evening honored Mila Saskova-Pierce, a professor at UNL Department of Modern Languages and long-time Lincoln Czech Club member.

We have resumed our meetings after our summer break, and enjoyed an informative presentation by Dr. Joe and Mary Swoboda about “Czechs and Mental Health”.

Do you know that one of our members, Virginia Dzerk, dances with the "Shim Shams" - a group of "grannies" who prefer tap dancing and performing to sitting in a rocking chair? The Shim Sham Dancers will entertain us and perhaps inspire us to do more dancing! You may have caught their act at the State Fair or on other stages. Way to go, Ginny

Ron and Robin Cihal of the KZUM "No Name Polka Show" will entertain us with a nostalgic program. You may have heard them on Thursdays from 10:00 A.M. to 12 Noon on 89.3 FM Radio. They will play a variety of music for us, so get ready for a toe-tapping time!
