2008 Czech Festival
The
39th annual Czech Festival hosted by the
Nebraska Czechs of Lincoln took place on Sunday, May 4, 2008
at the Moose Lodge
Family
Center, 4901 North 56th Street in Lincoln. It was attended
by the public and admission was free.
Booths opened at 9:00 a.m. with ethnic food including kolace, bakery goods, crystal from the Czech
and Slovak
Republics, and so much more. Many exhibitors were on hand to
display how our Czech heritage is being carried on.
Hot
food was served by the Moose Lodge starting at 11:00 am.
The
program included: a Czech Accordion Jam, Capital City Choraliers, Lincoln Czech Queen Coronation,
The Kramer Sisters from Crete & Wilber, WFLA Scholarship Presentation & Czech Language Presentation, Czech Heritage
Dancers, a Czech Accordion Jam,
WFLA Bike Drawing and the Sesostris Shrine Polka Band for your listening and
dancing pleasure – music & dancing till
6:00 p.m.
The Nebraska Czechs of
Lincoln are proud of our Czech heritage and invite you to join us at our
regular meetings on the second Friday of each month, October
through May, at 4901 N. 56th St., Lincoln, NE for dinner
