The Nebraska Czechs of Lincoln
40th annual Czech Festival was held on
Sunday, May 3, 2009
at the
Moose
Lodge
Family
Center
,
4901 North 56th Street
in
Lincoln
.
This festival was open to the public and admission was free.
Vendor booths were open from
9:00am - 4:30pm with ethnic foods including kolace,
baked goods, crystal from the
Czech & Slovak
Republics
and so much more. Many exhibitors were on hand (example:
Dumpling & Kraut demos) to display how our Czech-Slovak Heritage
is being carried on.
Hot food was served by the
Moose
Lodge
Family
Center
from
11:00-2:00 .
The program included Accordion Jams, Capital City Czech
Choraliers, Lincoln Czech Queen~Prince~Princess Coronation,
Introduction of NE Chapter Czech Queens & Past Lincoln Czech
Queens, Less Talk More Polka Band, WFLA Scholarship Presentation
& Czech Language Presentation, International Folk Dancers, WFLA
Bike Drawing and the Sesostris Shrine Polka Band for your
listening and dancing pleasure - music and dancing until 6:00pm.
The
Nebraska
Czechs of
Lincoln
are proud of our Czech heritage and invite you to join us at our
regular meetings on the second Friday of each month, October
through May, at
4901 N. 56th St. ,
Lincoln ,
NE
for dinner at
6:00pm followed by a program or entertainment. For
